The Philippine Consulate has called on members of the Filipino community, in particular those who live in areas in NSW labelled "most at risk" of being affected by a bushfire outbreak, to be extra vigilant and have a Bushfire Survival Plan ready.

Among the top 10 areas, as researched by Risk Frontiers of Macquarie University and reported in the Sydney Morning Herald, are:

1. Blue Mountains

2. Gosford

3. Shoalhaven

4. Hornsby

5. Sutherland

6. Port Macquarie

7. Eurobodalla

8. Ku-ring-gai

9. Tweed

10. Lake Macquarie

Those with updates on the bushfire situation in their area, and Filipinos who may be affected, can call the Consulate's duty officer on the hotline number 0415 426 400.
